"Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.
I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing."
I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing."
John 15:4-5 Amplified Bible.
Well, this will be short ( one hopes, I can really tend to be too wordy!). Once again, in Sunday Service, minding my own business, a verse popped up. I knew it was for me & it was for MVM!
For me it speaks to the thing which has been very much on my heart lately, which is to ensure that I stay fresh in Christ. That I do not become stale. I never want to be living off of day old, or two day old bread. I want to live off of fresh hot bread and not only do I want to, I want to have it to offer at all times. I want my life to be fragrant with that aroma of fresh bread, manna from heaven, so people will know where they can go to get some fresh baked bread.
This is my secret recipe and I just want to share it with you. Because I perceive I am so blessed to have made lots of bloggy friends, who are interested in the same secret recipe. In all different styles and flavors!
If you liked this Memory Verse Monday, please pop over to Karen's for some more. You can even sign up for your very own!

Well how spooky was this! I was looking at these very same verses as possibly to memorise when I came across your post about the three legged race and felt God prod me onto something else!!!
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this verse! As a matter of fact God has been pressing this one on my heart for the last three weeks. You see I am in a major transition in my life (professionally) and God has shown me that he is stripping me of all the flowers, branches, and stuff that makes a beautiful tree and is pruning me back into a branch so I can remain in Him and get ready to bloom and grow into some amazing new creation for Him. (Love Him, really don't like the pruning process)

Only yesterday I was feeling liberated by the fact that apart from Jesus I can do nothing, it's not about me, it's all him and abiding in him.
To All! BG, Mellisa, & Karen
You guys bless me no end! Yesterday I was late getting this post out for 2 reasons. 1st: there are all the wife/life/mother obligations, but 2nd I had the toughest time being sure which was the scripture God had for this. I was see-sawing back & forth...in the end...I felt this give me peace & when I did the post it like just flowed...God is just so radically, awesomely COOL!
Abiding!
Love,
Maria
P.S. Mel, all giddiness (on my part) aside I wanted to say...I have been through the stripping professionally, many stages of it during these last 7 yrs...I'd love to talk more if you are ever inclined!
There are great things on the other side and even during the process. (Which I know you know)
If you ever need to talk, feel free to e-mail me if you like...or I can even call...I have tons of cell minutes!
Shine on!
Maria
"I never want to be living off day old, or two day old bread."
Yes. I like this thought. Every day I want to come to Him and be made fresh by Him so I can go and give what He has given to me!
You are such a good person! I love to read your Monday verse...

Karen, I am with you! Fresh! Everyday! It sooo shows when I am stale!
Matchbox! You are soo kind! And I am so not good! BUT, I AM in 'hot pursuit' of that mecurial quality we call goodness! Like you, I seek to live and love well...
You guys, I have a post coming up, where I will need input..be looking for it!
hugs,
Maria
This is a great memory verse. One that--as you say it daily--will reveal a lot of good stuff. I think one of the best things about memorization is the actual stuff God says while meditating on the scripture you want to memorize. It makes you realize how living the Word is.
Carole,
I agree, as soon as I started focusing on it, this phrase started echoing, it'll probably be a post one day, but, it goes like this - "Where do you live?" You know those kinds of questions He asks us, to get us thinking...
I am in brew mode! Speaking of that, time to make the coffee!
:)
hugs,
Maria
