The Daily Dose!

One of the blessings in blogging, is the wonderful people you meet.
People who have LOTS to do, and chose to spend part of their busy lives doing research, getting pictures, browsing the net and putting thoughts together
to make sense of all the good stuff they find;
for the sole purpose of blessing the readers,
by enriching their lives, and providing encouragement and strength for the journey of life.
The first blogger who really blessed me in this fashion, and I am happy to say I consider a grand bloggy friend, is Julie from Joyful Days! She started last year pursuing, seeking the Joy of the Lord, and it is clear to see in her blogging style that it really permeates her life.
Visiting her site you catch a little of that joy yourself,
that's how joy works you know, it's contagious!! Awesome!
Anywhooooo, Joyful Days was recently awarded The Daily Dose Award, and might I say that it is well deserved! She was my first Daily Dose blog (now I have several!).
The award was originated by Xandra from Heart of Service,
and here are her words for this award:
"...it's for blogs that I must read every day without fail . . . They make you laugh, cry, think and feel connected every time you read a post. They give you a thrill as you see them loading into your browser and you get an equally satisfying thrill when you see that they have commented on your blog."
Great words! Julie was so kind as to share this award with me, and I am so honored by her kindness in that. Thanks again, Julie! It is my joy (pardon the pun!) to share this with the blogs that without fail, whether I have the gumption or time to blog or not, I must read what they have going on, and I am NEVER disappointed! Since I can't award some because you have received it yourself, you know who you are if you are missing from this list!
DO check out: Leslie at Do You Weary, a faithful Daughter of the King and wonderful mother and wife! She is great combination of profundity (it's a real word, Ya'll! I checked! ;)
and wry laughter, and I am fortunate to be able to count her as a dear, though far away friend! Cecily at My Chaos My Bliss, this chick is so smart and funny, I nominate her and her family for reality TV! And I am sure her avid fan club would agree with me! Grand wife and mother with much witty insights from her and her whole clan! Mel at Mel's World. She is such a funny, savvy wife and mother. Awesome faith and winsome presentation. Carole at Fractured Thoughts, she has wisdom and droll humor, and I just can't resist that combination! Karolee at My Montana Moments, She is so frank and forthright, and a person of great charachter. I love to hear how God is working in her wonderful family! Heidi at God's Grace in Practice, she has all sorts of nifty thoughts and posts, from everything ranging from being thrifty to holiday recipes, lots to add to your life here. Letters from a Prodigal Daughter, she's just the cat's meow, Ya'll! From reviews of Ally McBeal, to her very own poetry. You can find it all at her place! My latest find (seems like we have been blogging together for a lot longer!) is Ally at Ally's Antics. She is a cool, Christian chick, with life, laughter and motherhood on her mind. Her musings are heart-warming and right on target. The last one, I would be remiss not to list. She is Karen at Karen's Ramblings. Her place is loaded with great pictures, lots of scripture and a touch of prophetic insight, which I love.
OK, you all! Now you know my secret! I really do blog alot! Luckily my PC is in the family room, right by the kitchen and laundry room, so I can trulty hit and run! Jason does his school work in the kitchen and I can cook dinner, answer math questions and well, you get the picture!
Please take time to check out a new blog or two! And, for those of you who were awarded, click here to sign Xandra's Mr Linky. She is keeping a running list, how cool?
Her site is fab by the way!
Thanks to all of you for being an encouragement and adding to our lives by sharing yours!
Happy Clicking!!

Maria, you are so good to me! And to think you awarded me this in a week where I am not blogging very well because I am literally falling asleep at the computer.

Here's hoping I can get caught up next week and that Evie decides that sleeping is cool again.

Thanks again my butterfly chasing friend!!

What Does it Mean Anyway? "Free to Fly"...

Well, it's like this: Here are some of the Webster's Dictionary definitions of Free: a : having the legal and political rights of a citizen b : enjoying civil and political liberty c : enjoying political independence or freedom from outside domination d : enjoying personal freedom : not subject to the control or domination of another2 a : not determined by anything beyond its own nature or being : choosing or capable of choosing for itself...having a scope not restricted by qualification 7 a : not obstructed, restricted, or impeded ...Now, here are some of the Webster's Dictionary definitions of Fly:1 a : to move in or pass through the air with wings b : to move through the air or before the wind or through outer space c : to float, wave, or soar in the air ... a : to take flight ...6 : to work successfully ...Examples which apply from Websters: fly high : to be elated - fly in the face of or fly in the teeth of : to stand or act forthrightly or brazenly in defiance or contradiction of

What does this mean in my life? This means that in life we are meant to be free. While historically mankind has not always enjoyed the opportunity to fully appreciate what that means, we are so indescribably fortunate as to live in a time of the greatest spiritual, physical, financial and political freedom ever known. Freedom doesn't come cheap, nor does it come easy. But the best things in life don't come that way do they? As I write this I am struck by how this sounds like a political statement, and for me this is much more of a spiritual thing, but, same goes for that (political that is). Freedom doesn't come easy. And it's worth whatever fight you have to make to overcome in your life in order to live a life that succeeds. Now the questions is - what is success for you? What is your standard? In my mind what is needed is a definite target - because you can't hit and maintain a moving target. A stable, rock-solid, anchor with no variable, yet multi-faceted. Something pure, just and worthy. If you look at any web page of news you can see that our society is certainly lacking in this area. What a great time to live as a rebel! Nowadays to be a rebel, all you have to do is be willing to engage in the battle of life, while anchored to Christ!
