Don't you love it when you just are surrounded by a certain theme?
When you "bump into" a certain topic, scripture,
or word over a short period in time?
What I love about such divine occurrences,
is that it makes it difficult
for me to miss God's concern for me, and His desire to communicate with me.
It assures me, that when I need to hear from God, He is near and He won't fail me.
I was hit by just such a bevy of circumstances over Sunday and Monday,
and I wanted to share them with you all, so hopefully you can be encouraged, too!
Sunday in church, we were having a special service.
Our community is very near Daytona.
Daytona Beach, home of Bike Week.
There is one every spring in March, and one every October
For about 7 years we have had a special service,
which makes a concerted effort to reach out to the motorcycle community.
We always have a great time, and special music,
and after service there is always lots of good food and activities for young and old.
This year Pastor had been working on a message that was good, and timely.
But, at 4:00 am Sunday morning, he was really impressed by the Lord
that many people are in a tight place right now.
Feeling the pinch, the pressure of life.
He felt impressed that God wanted him to give a different message,
than the one prepared.
The message was simple.
"I won't let you down."
"I won't let you down."
Just let that sink in.
Who DOESN'T have a situation that requires knowledge of
God's mercy, care and compassion?
On Monday when I visited my dear friend Leslie at Do You Weary Like I Do.
Imagine my delight to see that their church service had featured a song
that really moved her, moved many in the congregation.
You Never Let Go!
She posted a video of Matt Redman singing the song,
it's really worth the trip to see.
Through other circumstances this theme continued to come at me Sunday evening and Monday.
And while I have such a long to-do list of things I am leaning into the Lord about.
(Don't we all?)
I couldn't put my finger exactly on any one of them,
(maybe several, but not just one! :)
Here are the words to the song, "You Never Let Go",
I pray they will ring in your heart.
Because He really won't, He won't let you down, He won't let you go,
He won't leave you or forsake you!
You Never Let Go
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back
I know You are near
And I will fear no evil
And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?
Chorus:
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me
And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know
You here on the earth
Chorus:
Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You
Chorus: (2x’s)
Chorus: (2x’s)
"Go then and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them into the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you,
Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you,
and behold, I am with you all the days
(perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion),
to the [very] close and consummation of the age.
Amen (so let it be)"
Matthew 28:19-20
For more read Joshua 1:5, Hebrews 13:5,
And as a bonus:
"He reached from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters"
Psalms 18:16

I love the way God often speaks to so many in vastly separated areas geographically at the same time. I often see this where a certain focus seems to be the subject for many in many places! Thanks for the link. Dont ya just LOVE that song?!
I think there is complete truth in your title, but I don't think it sounds like truth. The trick here is to understand that our expectations of life and God's are often two different things. He works in a complete other dimension of reality than we live in. He is so pure, so holy, so spiritual. We are so human, so frail, so needy. And then when things don't go our way --our child dies, we are beaten by a spouse, our next door neighbor killed his wife, our finances tanked and we lost a house, etc. we believe God let us down. Our expectation is that with God the world is rosy. And in so many ways it is. But there is still sin and still free choice, and so sad things happen. This is a tough lesson, but your post is truth.
Leslie, I always get such a "kick" out of that, too! It's a big thing to us! And a smalll thing for Him to accomplsih & I love that fact too! And yes I do! I really enjoy Matt Redman, and Delirious...they have a similar heart & sound that I really enjoy.
Carole, I SO agree with you. I hesitated to sound simplistic. Though often, I confess my faith is. But, I COMPLETELY agree that often He is with us in the midst of circumstances we made or other circumstances in this fallen earth brought. I count on the fact that He is a big picture God, whose purpose is always for our good, and that in the "meantime" that we (who can't usually see past our nose), we might not see it like that. I just hope that I don't forget that, you know? That I will always keep my eyes & heart on Him, even then. I trust Him, just don't trust myself! :)
I love you my friend.
