But He Himself was in the stern [of the boat], asleep on the [leather] cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, Master, do You not care that we are perishing?
And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea,
He said to them, Why are you so timid and fearful?
Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering
For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything
[For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute),
Where I am going with this, isn't something I can say is in my heart yet (more like head knowledge). And I usually don't post about something unless it's already in my heart. But I'm making an exception, this time. Because I am hopeful this will help me to process it, and carve it on the tablets of my heart. Who knows, maybe someone else needs this as much as I do?
Where I'm at right now, is that often when the winds of change blow, we struggle with not knowing what to do, and seeking God for wisdom. We may feel like He has failed us or that we have failed to hear Him, because we feel like we have NOTHING in the way of confidence or wisdom to light the way.
So, I am choosing to believe Him at His Word, because He's not a man that He should lie!
"The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day." Proverbs 4:18
How does this help me?
- It means I pray for (among other things) wisdom!
- And I believe Him to day by day (the day by day part is what trips me - I want to see far down the road! or at least to say, next week?) to guide us through the channel with the rocky waves and winds.
- I won't add to those waves with mental wavering and doubting if what we decide is right.
- I will believe, that regardless of the results, we did, and we do, the best we know to do, as He makes us able.
- I will keep my eyes on my constant: My source, My Father, and My Hope, My North Star, My Lighthouse in the Storm!
- He will keep me in His perfect peace, and those I love.
"You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]."
Isaiah 26:3-4
Keep your eyes on Him! After a while the waves seem to die down...so far so good!

Beyond beautiful my friend, I needed this. Blessings to you always.
Hmmm...Yes dear sister. Wonderfully put! I am SO with you...Thanks for putting this out there before it is in your heart. Transparency is beautiful. Praying dear sister.
Great post! So very true, and Very insightful!
Blessings to you!
Great post! Where I am right now and as much as the unknow makes me nervous...I'm ready for change. I love my job/career however where I am right now the waves of the storms are crashing in over my little boat. So, I thank you for all the scriptures you put out here today.
I love your new header, so dynamic and beautiful. There really does seem to be a lot of change, transitional feelings and shiftings of late - I know I feel it in my own life, my youngest starts School at the end of April; the Lord is stirring me up with new things - or old things resurrected with 'new' stamped all over it. Thank you for this post, I know I can over think and start being in two minds, double minded. xx
The verse in Isaiah is one of my most favorites!!! And I loved that picture you found of the lighthouse, it really pulled it all together! Good stuff!!
Denise, I am glad if it helped!
Leslie, thank you for your prayers! Oh, & thank YOU for that post Monday morning. It was such an encouragement to me, & I LOVED seeing how God was leading you and me both in a similar way! He's real cool like that!
Regina, thanks! It's is always great to hear from you!
Melanie Joy, I think there are many of us in that both WITH you! It must be a BIG boat! Tee-hee!
Karen, thank you very much! I am excited for YOU as you enter into your new season. Yours sounds positive. And while I know ALL change CAN end up positive, it is sure nice when it STARTS positive :) I have high hopes for you!
Nicki, me tooo, Chickee-poo! I have that Isaiah scripture in my mouth and in my heart quite frequently!
May God richly bless you all today! It occurs to me that on this April Fools Day, NO ONE can call any of you fools, because you ALL put your hope, not in man, but in GOD! And that's a VERY great thing!
The waves and the winds got worse than Katrina this past week.
Have you ever hit those moments when you began to wonder if your emotions and mind could handle all that was going on?
I have been doing a lot of calling out. As in--Dear God if you don't do something soon I will be lost!
In the storm He taught me something about myself. It was not pretty.
But now that I have admitted that He is right ;) and that I am sorry-the waves have begun to subside.I am soaking wet and I look like a drowned rat--but it is good.
The boat is still not on shore--but the paddle is in His hands and it is up to Him to decide what shore we shall land on. :)
Yes, another working it out one day at a time. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. I speak it--it goes out into the air--I hear it and if I allow it it goes deep into the marrow of my bones.
Good word girl!
Needed that. I am a talk it out girl also.
Amen. I am SO glad He is not like me! He is faithful and true. I pray we will grow more and more in faith, always reaching higher.
Great new header! Thanks for the wonderful message!

Sharon, I hate to hear the troubled, stormy waters you have been in. But, at the same time I know you are in good hands, and He will not let you be overwhelmed! I hope more peaceful sailing is ahead for a while...maybe even a port of call!
Stacey, Amen, I'm with you!
Renee', Thanks for listening while I "process"! :)
Thanks, Ya'll! Hope you are having a great evening!
